First, we couldn’t resist a pit stop at Thimbirigasyaya to savor the fresh rambutan and mangosteen fruits. Their sweet and tangy flavors were the perfect start to our day. However, our journey took an unexpected turn when we got pulled over by the traffic police. We had inadvertently broken a traffic rule, leading to a brief moment of embarrassment. 😒🤷♀️
This incident was a stark reminder of the importance of adhering to Sri Lankan traffic policies, which are crucial for everyone’s safety. Despite this hiccup, we continued our journey with smiles, determined not to let it dampen our spirits. ❤
Upon arriving at Viharamahadevi Park
The festival was a sight to behold, with dogs of all shapes and sizes parading around. We were thrilled to see such a variety of breeds and couldn’t resist snapping a ton of photos with these adorable furry friends.

The festival was incredibly well-organized, featuring events like the Fashion Fido Runway, paw-some arts and crafts, and the Best in Show competition. Each event showcased the unique talents and charms of the dogs, making it a delightful experience for all attendees. The food stalls were a hit too, offering treats for both humans and canines, ensuring everyone had something to enjoy.
What stood out the most was the festival’s heartwarming celebration of the bond between humans and dogs. It coincided with International Dog Day, emphasising the importance of dog welfare and protection. The love and joy in the air were palpable, making the day truly special. 💕
In the end, despite the rainy weather and the brief encounter with the traffic police, our day at the Dog Festival was filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. It was a perfect reminder of the simple joys in life and the special bond we share with our pets. ❤
